Sorry I missed yesterday. My new mini gaming PC arrived on Tuesday, and we were having technical issues yesterday morning that kind of put me off the rest of the day. I also had to drive Keston to work at 5:30 am so I could meet him after work for an insurance thing. On top of that, little Bug’s cold has spread to me a bit. Just a little tickle yesterday, but now this morning it is a full-blown sore throat. Hoping it just lasts the day, though, because I’m supposed to go visit some high-risk family this weekend for the holiday. I don’t want to get anyone sick, but especially not my bonus mom, Karyn, who has ALS.
I had to fully restart my computer yesterday to fix the problem, which meant redoing all the setup I did on Tuesday. It didn’t take too long, though, other than the massive download that is The Sims 4 and all its expansions my sister and I have purchased. After all the downloads and passwords and so forth, I didn’t spend much time on the computer. My mom called me.
She had to help with a repair at the house and wondered if I could take my grandma to the movies for their Wednesday outing. They had tickets to see the new Ghostbusters movie. I hadn’t seen the last one that came out a few years ago, so I spent my early afternoon watching that and chasing Fletcher.
I cleaned up under my desk when I got the PC, and now the Bug has discovered all the books he can pull off my shelf when he crawls underneath. He keeps going after Treasure Island. I have never read that one, but it’s Keston’s favorite, so I think he approves of our son’s choice.
One of these days, when Fletcher can sit still longer or I stop caring about him sitting in my lap for story time, I’ll start reading it to him. I need to read to him more. As a bookworm mom, I’m a little ashamed of how little I’ve read to him. He LOVES playing with his board books and flipping the pages, but we don’t read them much. I’ll work on that. Maybe today we’ll read together.
As you may have guessed, I didn’t do any homework yesterday, and I didn’t do much the day before either. I’ve never been good at school these first few months of the year. Today is going to be a focus on homework and resting. I need to get rid of this sore throat, because I’ve been looking forward to this visit for weeks. Wish me luck, friends.
