Morning Check-in: 3/21/24

Yesterday was a good day. I got up, fed the baby, I’m pretty sure I fed the dog (sometimes I forget in the chaos of morning brain), and I got a little bit of homework done. I am officially done with everything that was due last week. Now I just need to start what I’m supposed to turn in by Saturday… Wish me luck.

Fletcher and I went to the library. He had fun with a walker toy. That boy is close to figuring it out… he just needs to realize that crawling may be faster now, but walking will be so much easier once he figures it out. Then he won’t have to carry his water bottle around by holding the straw in his mouth. He’s adorable, though. I love him.

I got a bunch of “For Dummies” books from the library the last few days relating to social media marketing, personal branding, blogging, etc. I’m ready to take this stuff to the next level and actually go somewhere with my online adventures. I’m ready to build a community that is interested in my writing and my adventures as a mom, wife, and general human being. It’d be nice to start making a little money off of it too… We’ll see where it all goes.

We also got food yesterday, finally. A lot of food. I hope Fletcher is ready to snack on bananas for the next several days – it’s a good thing he loves them!

I also got a recipe book from the library that I’ve been thinking about purchasing for a while now. I never even thought about just borrowing them from the library until I wandered past that shelf while trying to get Fletch to take a nap. Now I can just try the recipes, write down the ones I like, and return it for the next person!

I’m excited to start cooking for my family regularly. It’s a lot more work, but it’s so rewarding. As long as I keep up on the dishes, I know it will be worth it. The food will be good, we’ll more than likely save money, and maybe Keston and I will learn some new cooking skills while we’re at it! One of these days, I need to look into how to get Fletcher involved in the cooking as well. It’s an important life skill I want him to have, so he doesn’t have to depend on anyone and also knows how to read a recipe, make filling and healthy food for himself, meal plan, etc. It will also be good for exposing him to lots of different foods… maybe he won’t be as picky as I was growing up. Or maybe he will, and we’ll find ways to work around it. I know most of my pickiness is a texture thing, and there are plenty of ways to work around texture!

Have a recipe you think we should try? Comment below or reach out to me!

I’ll see you tomorrow, lovelies.
